Emalahleni Local Municipality Bursaries 2025
Emalahleni Local Municipality invites eligible South African students to submit applications for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2025.

The Emalahleni Local Municipality Bursary Programme is now open for applications for the 2025 academic year. This bursary is provided by the Office of the Executive Mayor and aims to support students residing within the Emalahleni Local Municipality (Mpumalanga) who wish to pursue undergraduate studies in specific fields.

The bursary is available for studies in the following fields:
- Analytical Chemistry
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Environmental Management
- Developmental Studies
- Disaster Management
- Horticulture
- Law
- Mechanical Engineering
- Microbiology
- Urban and Regional Planning
- Water and Sanitation
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Emalahleni Municipality Bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
- Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Residency: You must reside within the Emalahleni Local Municipality, Mpumalanga.
- Disadvantaged Background: Preference is given to applicants from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Matric Status: Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric.
- Field of Study: Must be intending to study towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the listed fields in 2025.
- Institutional Enrollment: Must be studying or have been accepted to study at an accredited South African public institution (University or TVET College).
- Financial Need: Must demonstrate financial need.
- Disability: Students living with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

- Complete the Application Form: Fill out the form with accurate and complete details.
- Submit Supporting Documents: The following documents are required for submission (all documents must be certified copies):
- ID document
- Latest Matric results (if currently in Matric) or Matric certificate/statement of results (if completed)
- Full academic record (if already studying)
- Proof of provisional acceptance into a tertiary institution
- Achievements or merit certificates (if applicable)
- Proof of residence
- Parents’ or guardians’ proof of income (latest payslips, affidavit if unemployed, or proof of SASSA grant)
- A motivational letter explaining why you deserve the bursary.

Important Notes
- Agreement: Successful candidates will be required to sign an agreement with the Emalahleni Local Municipality.
